HBOS Furnival Court, Sheffield

Value: £3.1m Duration: 39 weeks

HBOS has engaged S&W under framework arrangements for a number of years. One such framework, known as Major Employment Site (MES) to distinguish it from the Branch framework in which we also participate, covers non-retail locations and tends towards larger schemes involving ‘commercial/corporate’ space.

S&W were invited to undertake feasibility studies, planning and scoping, all leading to production of detailed design and then delivery. The project entailed phased refurbishment of a 3 storey premises, in a multi-tenancy occupied building. The client’s space had to remain fully operational throughout, involving clever, agile and highly co-ordinated creation and use of ‘swing space’. The project comprised full stripout, effectively back to shell & core, introduction of data infrastructure, new M&E plant and ducting, new elements and finishes such as ceilings, partitioning, raised access floors, full renewal of lighting, creation of cellular space, followed by full redecoration throughout.
